An extract of the book “ The charm of Malfunction ”
Nature has been the greatest provider for us. Not only food and water which are essential to our living, It gives us pleasure, visually, recreationally and it’s been a source of inspiration for creative minds as long as we can remember.
In nature, we find the most elegant forms, textures and colours that we try hard to imitate — aesthetic that is both universal and timeless, delicate but strong.
In my approach, I took flowers, plants and a woman as symbols of nature and wilderness, and joined them with mechanical parts to create robot-like creature, turning objects of pure function into decoration, contrasting fragility with heavy-dutiness.
The images also imply human awareness of the earth being unwell — that nature is more fragile and precious than we thought and that there’s an urgency to find solution for the future.
