An extract of the book “ The charm of Malfunction ”
We build machines so that machines can build for us.Things that are impossible to achieve by mere human hands with precision and speed.
Each piece identical.
Since the industrial revolution that’s how the world has run,
we own similar-looking objects and anything that is handmade — with that special hint of human touch — appreciates over time.
Speaking of the most easily broken industrial objects around me,
chargers would top that list, and I have one too many of them.
Here, I explore the idea of disrupting them by adding a sense of handicraft and adorning them as I appreciate every second of their past service.
